Ayurvedic Consultation (60 mins)

The process starts with a detailed Wellbeing Assessment Questionnaire to be completed in advance. which reaches our Ayurvedic Physician for evaluation prior to the online consultation. The Ayurvedic consultation explores your physical, mental and emotional health to assess your unique prakriti of Doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) that determines your body type and your current imbalances. A comprehensive assessment is done of all major health systems and indicators including digestion, sleep, stress and nervous system, waste functioning, metabolism, toxins, mental and emotional states. 

The Ayurvedic physician then prepares a sequence of guidelines & a programme of diet and activity according to your body type that will help bring about more balance, energy and peace to your mind and body. A complete report is handed over and a follow up consultation is scheduled after 2 weeks for a review.

Hatha Yoga 
Ananda’s personalised online Hatha Yoga sessions begin with Foundation Asanas meant for both beginners as well as experienced practitioners and moving into more intermediate practices depending on experience and ability. You will receive attention with dialogue and adjustments specifically tailored for your needs. Each posture has manual adjustments which will help you to understand the relationships between the muscle groups and body parts being engaged. To develop a deeper understanding of how your body engages in each posture, the instructor guides your awareness to specific areas to enhance your body’s natural intuition. Specific issues with regard to injuries and chronic pain will also be assessed. Longer term programmes for weight management, pain management, and respiratory health can also be customised by our team during these sessions.

While Pranayama is generally defined as breath control it is well beyond that. The word stems from Prana (vital energy) and Ayama (meaning extension or expansion). So pranayama should not be considered merely as breathing exercises to expand lung capacity or breathe in more oxygen. It removes the blockages from the subtle energy channels. The initial practices influence the flow of prana in the nadis purifying, regulating and activating them, thereby inducing physical and mental stability. The techniques of Pranayama provide the pathway for life force to be activated to enable going beyond one’s normal boundaries and reach a higher state of awareness.

Ananda’s online Pranayama sessions can be progressed from beginner’s level of yogic breathing to advanced Pranayama and Bandhas depending on the requirement. 

Meditation in classical Raja Yoga is not a process separate from yoga or even merely one of the stages of Yoga, it is the goal of yoga taking one to levels of all-encompassing awareness and higher consciousness. “Meditation begins at the point of Pratyahara, the fifth step of Raja yoga, and meansing ‘withdrawal of consciousnesses. The experiences of smell, the experience of auditory perception, the tactile consciousness – all these are experienced through the medium of the senses. In meditation the mind can be withdrawn and disconnected from these mediums. When outer awareness is withdrawn, the body is there but does not feel. This stage is often believed by spiritual aspirants to be a very exalted state, but actually it is only the beginning, the first stage of Pratyahara” Swami Satyananda Saraswati

Ananda’s meditation personal sessions will being with these Pratyahara techniques including Yoga Nidra (psychic sleep)- a technique of deep yogic relaxation, Antar Mouna (inner silence)- an art of witnessing the thoughts, Ajapa Japa (spontaeneous chanting) - a meditative awareness of spontaneous mantra.
