“Learning from a Master lies not in what he gives us, but in our ability to receive…”

New Delhi, March, 2006 Ananda – In The Himalayas is delighted to welcome Swami Anubhavananda in the next of its series of Visiting Master classes.

From 10th – 14th May 2006, Swami Anubhavananda, a renowned teacher of the Indian Scriptures, will be leading a five-day spiritual awareness programme entitled “The Silent Sound”.  The programme will focus on the nature of inner silence, the beauty of the singular sound ‘Om’, and the principles that govern the essential wisdom of the primordial sound.

Communicating in a humorous and simple way, Swami Anubhavananda is able to unravel abstract and metaphysical concepts and bring one closer to the realisation of life’s simple truths: that what one learns stems from our ability to receive, our ability to be present, and our ability to come closer to realisation through one’s own concentrated spiritual practice.

“OM is one of the most chanted symbols in India.  It has a profound effect on the body and mind of the one who chants and also on the surroundings.  It is repeated as a mantra or meditated upon to attain realisation; its form is worshipped, contemplated or used as an auspicious sign.

The chanting of OM fills the mind with peace, making it focused and replete with subtle sound.  Om symbolises everything – the means and goals of life, the world and the Truth behind it, the material and the Sacred…”

The five-day programme includes seminars, practical demonstrations, and guidance on the rules for meditation and recommended postures, as well as advice on breathing and relaxation techniques.   Swami Anubhavananda will also be holding private sessions by appointment.
