The
Tea Lounge
Located
in the Viceregal Palace, the Maharaja's Tea
Lounge is a warm, romantic setting for an afternoon
cup of tea and light snacks, taking you back
to the by-gone days of the British Raj and royalty.
The lounge walls are adorned with the portraits
of the erstwhile Maharaja and the other political
dignitaries who visited Narendra Nagar during
the reign of the Maharaja. Of particular interest
and mention are the signatures and pictures
of Lord Mountbatten, the last Viceroy of India.
While the lounge quietly tells a story of the
days of yore, relax on the lounge sofas or admire
the rich, brocaded tapestry, dating back to
the royal times. Enjoy spectacular sunsets or
appreciate the beauty of the well-manicured
gardens. Savour the cup of tea at the royal
card tables, which have been retained from the
time of the Maharaja. Exquisitely crafted to
perfection, these card tables have the enclosures
made of glass. The tapestry and the curtains
exude the warm and inviting hues of yellow and
blue, both traditional colours of Indian royalty.
Whether
it is the cup of tea on your mind or merely
historic curiosity, the Tea Lounge is your awaited
answer. Indulge....
