Following consideration of the importance of environmental sustainability and a commitment to be of benefit to the Tehri Garhwal community, ‘Ananda In the Himalayas’ strives to achieve and continually improve on environmental and social sustainability performance for the region in which it belongs.
Away in the Himalayan foothills, close to the mythical cities of Haridwar and Rishikesh, surrounded by Sal forests, overlooking the holy Ganga river, Ananda is the spiritual pathway to the ultimate. Spirituality, holistic living and balance are integral parts of the Ananda philosophy therefore being in harmony with nature and our surroundings is central to our core belief. Our philosophy transcends to meet the life challenges of underprivileged in our community
We will act on the ethos of generosity and compassion to build a society the works for everyone. To this end, we will, within our affordable resources, support local charities in initiating activities that brings in social and economic development of the communities. Our focus areas include women’s health and local environment.
We will develop environmental policies and procedures and shall train our people on global standards of environmentally sustainable development. Our policies will be revised annually to ensure that we are relevant in our approach for securing a sustainable future. We will practice using products and services that are efficient and environment – friendly.

Ananda is a registered partner of the Uttarakhand Organic Commitee Board.
With the continuous increase in the number of organic activities and farmers through various projects in Uttarakhand, a great need was felt to constitute an organization to promote, coordinate, the dispersed organic activities and efforts for Organic Farming in the state. Uttarakhand Organic Commodity Board is acting as the nodal agency of the state to enhance organic activities in agriculture and allied sectors like Horticulture, Medicinal Aromatic Plants & Herbs and animal husbandry through out the state.
