The Ayurvedic system of medicine provides a fundamental understanding of the five basic elements of nature. These elements express themselves into three operating principles within the physiology referred to as the three Doshas -Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Individual constitution, which is acquired at birth, is expressed through Ayurveda in terms of these three doshas and Ayurvedic medicine draws upon its rich traditions of herbs and roots to effectively balance these. Each product at Ananda Line is steeped in this philosophy.

Ayurveda believes that the body produces certain toxins that are harmful if they are not flushed out regularly. The skin forms a large organ, which helps the body to rid itself of toxins and impurities. Ayurveda advocates three precise steps for this detoxification and cleansing process- Snehana, Swedana and Snana. Snehana extracts toxins from the body with the use of scrubs, wraps and packs. Swedana goes a step further, and here detoxification takes place through saunas and steam baths. Snana or the bath, is the last step in this holistic cleansing process. Ananda Line of skin care incorporates this philosophy and offers products for each step of cleansing.

The range of skin care includes moisturisers, exfoliating creams, hair care products and shower gels. All these products have been created with pure herbal ingredients and with the gentlest care in mind. Pure herbal distillates, essential oils, plant extracts, crushed flowers, roots and barks have been blended together to create unique formulations. The development process involved extensive research of ancient Indian manuscripts to learn more about the properties of various types of herbs, flowers and roots.
