Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta is the knowledge of life and living, and teaches the technique of facing the challenges of life with ease and composure. Dynamic action and internal peace is achieved through the strengthening of the intellect. It is the incorrect assessment and unreasonable expectation of the world that produces stress and strain.
The world’s foremost Vedanta philosopher, Swami Parthasarathy will be conducting a Life in Focus retreat at Ananda from 16th – 18th July 2004, the net proceeds of which will be donated to Swami Parthasarathy’s charitable trust, the Vedanta Cultural Foundation. Patron of the Young Presidents Organisation, World Presidents’ Organisation and World Economic Council, Swamiji as he is affectionately addressed by his devotees, is also author of the best seller, ‘Vedanta Treatise, internationally acclaimed as the ‘book of the planet’.
Gautam Jain and Jankai Chopra will continue the Vedanta teachings at Ananda. Gautam Jain, a premier disciple of Swamiji, completed a brilliant academic career in the United States, attaining the Albert Bell scholarship. He proceeded to complete a decade of full time research of Vedanta and has now dedicated his life to further upholding and promoting of Vedanta.
